REALTIME ENTERS EMPIRE HILL CLIMB
SAUKVILLE, Wis. (Sept. 7, 2018) – RealTime Racing’s Peter Cunningham will take part in the Empire Hill Climb presented by AutoWeek, September 15, in Empire, Michigan. He will drive the 2018 Acura TLX GT in the Exhibition Class.
Not long after scoring his second consecutive class win and resetting the Open Class lap record at the Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb, Cunningham will strap into the TLX GT once again for a run up the 3/4-mile Empire course. Near the coast of Lake Michigan, Empire is located approximately 155 miles north of Grand Rapids and 25 miles west of Traverse City.
Originally run from 1964 – 1980, the Empire Hill Climb was a family event that invited locals to push their daily drivers to the limit and gave car clubs a chance to earn bragging rights. It is in year four of a revival with support from AutoWeek. Spectators can expect a wide range of entries from classic to modern sports cars, stock cars and even some open-wheel cars. RealTime is supporting the event’s resurgence by showcasing the performance of the TLX GT in the Exhibition Class.
“Hill climbs are one of the oldest forms of motorsport,” Cunningham said. “They continue to be popular because they bring a community together and welcome drivers of all skill levels. It’d be great to see more of them in the U.S. and I’m looking forward to putting on a show for the spectators in our TLX GT.”
The Empire Hill Climb runs from 10:00am – 6:00pm local time on Saturday, September 15. Each entrant will take multiple runs.
